Network Marketing, also know as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is a business-distribution model that allows a parent company to market its products or service directly to consumers by means of relationship referrals and/or direct selling. It is one of the easiest ways that the average person can start their own home based business with little upfront cost.
MLM has received its fair share of bad press over the years hence many people are reluctant to join this industriy and it is also due to the fact that it is often difficult to distinguish MLMs from illegal pyramid schemes. But that can be easily picked up just by analysing few things.
A legitimate MLM company will have a primary product or a service and a compensation plan where commissions are earned only on sales of such products or services. If commission is earned from recruiting alone (“sign-up fees”) and participants are paid primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, then it becomes a non-sustainable business model and that company is a pyramid, which is illegal in most countries.
Financial freedom can be easily and quickly achieved through earning from the power of network marketing as compared to other home businesses. Perhaps you have heard about this kind of business and you have probably read stories about people who have made fortunes in it. And it’s true; fortunes have been made and are still being made in the network marketing industry.
In most businesses, success means having to become a “slave” to the business. This is especially true in the retail and service businesses where your customers control your life and set your schedule. And you know, quite honestly, for a lot of people becoming a slave to their business is really not a problem.
They don’t seem to mind having to baby-sit the store everyday. They don’t mind being tied to a cash register, or having to continually deal with employees, inventories, overhead, wholesalers, distributors and all the rest just to make a measly 15% profit.
But for a select few, being a slave to any business is such a painful way to earn money. Especially when there are less complicated, less risky, and far more profitable ways to earn a great income without being tied down. And, that’s what the network marketing is all about — earning a good residual income for work done once in your own schedule. In this business, you are the master. You call the shots. And you have the freedom to enjoy your success.
As a matter of fact, lot of people feel like a MLM comes with great benefits and they are worth giving a try. Because to people who seek to earn extra income this is a home based business that starts as a second stream but grows to become a primary one. However I always advice people that if you are broke or down to your last penny and want to quickly fix your financial problems then this is not for you because you will need time, effort (persistence) and money to make it to your financial freedom in this business.
